Kunafah, also Kanafeh or Kunafeh, is an Arabic sweet made with cheese or cream cheese and covered with shredded wheat or phyllo pastry and a sugar syrup. Now, you can find it in the city, courtesy the three-month-old food venture, Foodeementals.
We called for (and finished) a 500 g Cream Cheese Kunafa (Rs 650). It was an incredibly addictive dessert, with a creamy, cheesy soft centre that balances out with the crunchiness of the ghee-soaked phyllo; is topped with saffron-soaked sugar syrup. You can’t stop at one spoon.
